Audra McDonald is unrivaled in the breadth and versatility of her talent as actor and singer. Audra McDonald, winner of the prestigious six Tony Awards in a row and two Grammy Awards in 2015 was listed as one of the Times magazine's 100 most influential people. The president Barack Obama also awarded her the National Medal of Arts -- America's highest honour for achievements in this field. She has a home in television, film and Broadway. The luminous tone of her voice is a perfect fit for the stage. In addition to her theatre performances, she also has an active career as a musician and recording artist. She performs regularly at the most prestigious venues in the world. McDonald is from Fresno California, where she was raised by a clan that included musicians. At the Juilliard School in New York City, McDonald received training as a classical singer. One year after graduation McDonald won her Tony Award Best Performance for an Actress in Musical Lead for her performance in Carousel for Lincoln Center Theater. In the following four years, she won two more Tony Awards for the category of a featured actress. The Bite is a drama featuring six episodes that are based on an epidemic, produced through Spectrum Originals & CBS Studios. McDonald starred with Taylor Schilling & Steven Pasquale. McDonald, who first appeared in The Good Wife, a CBS legal drama The Good Wife as U.S. attorneys Liz Lawrence and Liz Reddick from 2009 to 2018 reprised the characters (now named Liz Reddick) in The Good Fight as a Paramount+ season regular. McDonald received nominations for three Critics Choice Award awards. The actress is currently a guest on Julian Fellowes' historical drama The Gilded Age on HBO.
